Selecting health insurance plans can be ‘sticky.’ That’s why Jamestown Regional Medical Center is offering caramel rolls, cinnamon rolls and other sticky sweets to help educate individuals and offer health insurance advice during the Open Enrollment period.

“After a family member gets sick, the last thing you want to hear is, ‘I’m sorry, your insurance doesn’t cover that,” said Alison Kennison, patient access manager. “We’re hoping to help people understand their insurance plans now, while they still have choices and before an emergency occurs.”

Let’s Roll: Open Enrollment is set for 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, however, individuals can call with questions anytime.

“Our goal is to offer pressure-free guidance and insurance advice. We don’t sell insurance or advocate for any certain brand,” Kennison said. “We simply help individuals learn the ins and outs of insurance, whether its private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.”

More than 20,000 North Dakotans enrolled in a health insurance plan through the Affordable Health Care Act in 2016. Open Enrollment lasts through Friday, Dec. 15.
