My name is Cindy Wold. I have the opportunity to come to work and make a difference in how patients start their experience with our facility.

It has been my mission to make that person feel comfortable, acknowledged, respected and that they have made the right decision to come to JRMC. No matter the ailment that has brought them to our door, they are somebody’s mother, father, sister or brother, and they could be mine.

As an Admissions Clerk, I gauge the severity of the situation and immediately get the patient to our experts who deal daily with life-and-death situations. Not every visit is given a warning, such as an ambulance call, or a call ahead of what emergency is coming in. Many instances are walk-ins or curbside emergencies. I have had the pleasure of being thanked personally by prior patients, outside of the hospital grounds, who have acknowledged me for assisting what was addressed, that saved them from further damage, by quick actions that got them to the professionals. I take pride in setting the patient’s temperament and ease before the sharing of the reason why they have come to us.

I have no degrees or medical education, but I am proud to have the chance to make our patients feel their experience was positive in every way possible.

I am sure every one of us in Admissions has experiences that remain in our memories and hearts that make us feel WE have made a difference.
