JRMC named to Top 75 in nation

Modern Healthcare named Jamestown Regional Medical Center one of the Best Places to Work in 2017. Modern Healthcare honors workplaces throughout the healthcare industry that empower employees to provide the best possible care. Each year, Modern Healthcare singles out and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level. Modern Healthcare announced the recipients at the Workplace of the Future conference in Las Vegas last month. Modern Healthcare announced that of the Top 150 organizations, 75 are providers/insurers and 75 are suppliers/vendors. Of the 75 in its category, JRMC placed No. 63. Kacie Pahl receives JRMC nursing award

Because she is a team player, patient advocate and never complains, Jamestown Regional Medical Center named Registered Nurse Kacie Pahl its 2017 Nora Melvold Paulson Excellence in Leadership Award winner. JRMC celebrates nursing week with the Nora Melvold Paulson Excellence in Leadership Award, honoring one registered nurse each year. Nurses week is May 6-12, 2017. Pahl serves in the Family BirthPlace unit and has worked for JRMC since 2012. She and her children, Raina and Cameron, live in Jamestown. The Edgeley native holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Jamestown College (now the University of Jamestown) and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education. read...

JRMC named Top 100 Critical Access Hospital for fourth year

Jamestown, ND, March 6, 2017-   For the fourth year in a row, Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) was named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States by iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “This achievement is very gratifying and validates JRMC’S commitment to providing the best health care possible for our community,” said JRMC Chief Executive Officer K.C. DeBoer. There are 1,332 hospitals across the United States that qualify as a Critical Access Hospital (CHA), a designation that was created by Congress in 1997 to improve healthcare access in rural areas. Below-the-belt health can make faces to blush. Below-the-belt health can also make faces very hairy. Jamestown area #GROWvember teams helped get the word out about men’s health below the belt this fall, knowing that ignoring real symptoms can have a devastating effect. The teams grew beards and mustaches to bring attention to issues in the bedroom and bathroom. JRMC volunteer named Outstanding Citizen

One Jamestown Regional Medical Center volunteer was recognized Thursday as the city’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year. The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Dave Smette one of its highest honors at the Chamber’s annual banquet Thursday. Smette and his wife, Claudette, live in Jamestown. Smette has served on JRMC’s Foundation board since 2009. “Working with Dave and his wife Claudette has been a blessing,” said JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson. “We are grateful and lucky to have their support and example of giving back, family and civic values.” read...
